RESOLUTION NO. ~I gJ~ " ~~- a~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, APPOINTING THE REMAINING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2005. WHEREAS the Crty Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, adopted Ordinance No 16298- 02 2005 ordering an election for the purpose of electing the Mayor and City Council members to be held on Saturday May 7 2005 and, WHEREAS Section 32.005(a) of the Texas Election Code requires that the governing body of a political subdivision other than a county appoint the presiding fudges for elections ordered by an authority of the political subdivision, and, WHEREAS Section 32.093 of the Texas Election Code provides that the Crty Council shall fix the compensation to be paid presiding fudges and election clerks for their services in said election, and, WHEREAS the majority of the presiding fudges and alternate fudges were appointed by Resolution No 3182-03 2005 on March 29 2005 with certain remaining locations to be determined and confirmed by the Tarrant County Elections Admimstrator• WHEREAS, all of the remaining locations have now been filled with presiding fudges and alternates to be approved by the Fort Worth Crty Council, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT The persons identified in Exhibit A are hereby appointed as presiding fudges and alternate presiding fudges for these corresponding precincts for the purpose of conducting the City election schedule for May 7 2005 Prior to said election, each presiding fudge and alternate presiding fudge shall attend an election school to be conducted by the Tarrant County Elections Administrator at the time and location so indicated in writing by the Tarrant County Elections Administrator Each presiding fudge and alternate presiding fudge shall receive compensation for his or her services as presiding fudge in the amount of $8 00 per hour for the presiding election judge and $7 50 per hour for the alternate election fudge, including attendance at the election school, m the amount of $10 00 ~ ~ ~ RESOLUTION NO ..3I gJ~"' ©~ - aQ~,~ Page 2 Each election clerk appointed by each presiding fudge shall receive compensation for his or her services as election clerk m the amount of $7 50 per hour The presiding fudge, alternate presiding fudge, or election clerk who delivers from his or her precinct to the Tarrant County Elections Admtnistration for precinct election records, keys to the ballot boxes, other election equipment and unused supplies after said election shall be compensated for that service fn the amount of $25 00 APPROVED by the Crty Council of the Crty of Fort Worth on this the 12`" day of April, 2005 APPROVED Michael J Moncrief Mayor of the Crty of ~,,. r ATTEST ~; - .~ ~ '~~~, ~.;. ~+ ~" Marty=Hendrix, city Secretary; " i y .~ ""'~ 'r • * ~ 4~' rri r .~.^•. .~ APPROVED "AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY ~~~ David L.
