HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 21 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the 1965 Tarrant County United Fund Drive on October 21, 1965, exceeded its $2,568,256 goal for the 1966 support of its sixty-four member agencies; and, WHEREAS,, the Public Employees Division exceeded its high goal in the campaign by more than eight per cent; and, WHEREAS, employees of the City of Fort Worth, having established a high goal for 1965, due to their splendid sup- port of the 1964 Tarrant County United Fund Campaign when a previous goal was exceeded by more than fifty per cent, again exceeded the goal set for them by more than twenty per cent, or $10,000 over their goal; and, WHEREAS, the City employees' campaign director displayed outstanding performance in coordinating and inspiring employees of the City to contribute to the Crusade of Hope and to exceed their goal by outstanding proportions, which included a level of employee-giving of more than ninety-five per cent; and, WHEREAS, the department heads, division heads, and other supervisors of the City administrative staff faithfully car- ried the story of the United Fund to all City employees; and, WHEREAS, all employees of the City of Fort Worth demon- strated remarkable community interest and civic obligation by freely contributing to the welfare of those less fortunate citizens of Tarrant County who are served by the sixty-four member agencies of the United Fund; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: That appreciation and commendation be expressed to Mr. ., W. R. Hardy, Director of the City of Fort Worth Water and Sewer Department, for his direction of the campaign among City employees, to all supervisory and other officials of the City administration who assisted in this effort, and to all employees of the City of Fort Worth for their outstanding con- tributions to the 1965 Crusade of Hope Campaign. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council and that copies be furnished to Water Director W. R. Hardy and to every department and di- vision of the city government so that the employees of the City of Fort Worth will be duly recognized for their considerable achievement in the 1965 Tarrant County United Fund Drive.
