WHEREAS, Moody's Investor Service has recently announced that the cre-
dit rating of the City of Fort Worth has been raised to "As" from an "A" rat-
ing; and,
WHEREAS, the same change in credit rating has been announced by Moody's
Investor Service for the Fort Worth Independent School District, Tarrant County,
Tarrant County Junior College District, and the Tarrant County Water Control
and Improvement District No. 1; and,
WHEREAS, these changes in credit ratings will result in a savings of over
one and one half million dollars to the taxpayers of Fort Worth and Tarrant
County on bonds currently authorized and unissued by the above governmental
agencies, arid,
WHEREAS, the changes in credit ratings were announced immediately follow-
ing a presentation of the story on the Fort Worth economy to Moody's Investor
Service in New York City by five outstanding members of the Fort Worth busi-
ness community,_ and,
a... WHEREAS, this presentation was a significant factor in the decision
of Moody's Investor Service to .improve't6e ratings of the bonds of Fort Worth's
local governmental agencies, and,
WHEREAS, the preparation and presentation of the story of the Fort Worth
economy required many hours of valuable time by each of these fort Worth busi-
ness leaders; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
That, on behalf of all the citizens of our City and County grateful
acknowledgement be made and sincere appreciation be expressed to
Mr. M. A. Atkinson, Executive-Vice President, Fort Worth Chamber of
Commerce
Mr. Lewis Bond, President, Fort Worth National Bank
Mr. Burl Hulsey, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Texas
Electric Service Company
Mr. Paul Mason, President, First National Bank
Mr. Angus Wynne, President, Great Southwest Corporation
for their distinguished praaentatlm-of the -story-of the-gort Worth: economy
before M000y's investor Service in New York City and for the many houL. o£
their time required to prepare and make said presentation,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, on behalf of all the citizens of our City
and County, grateful acknowledgement_ be made and sincere appreciation be ex-
pressed to

Fort Worth National Bank
Great Southwest Corporation
Texas Electric Service Company
for their making the time of these men available for the benefit of the entire
community and the assistance rendered by the other personnel of these companies
in preparing the story of the Fort'Worth economy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Secretary spread this resolution
upon the minutes of the City Council and furnish a copy thereof to each of the
above named persons.
IN TESTIM0NY WHEREOF, I have hereunto signed my nags' officially and
