CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, James W. Davis, a private in Company "K", 317th First Marine
Division, was killed in action on Independence Day, July. 4, 1968, serving ,
his country in Viet Nam; and,
WHEREAS, James W. Davis, was a native of Fort Worth, date of his-birth
being August 3, 1947, attended Stephen F. Austin Elementary and Parker Junior
High School, and was an active member in the Central Assembly of God Church;
and,
WHEREAS, James worked for the City of Fort Worth in the Water Depart-
ment for one year ,just prior to his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps
in November of 1966; and,

WHEREAS, James received his basic training at Camp Pendleton, California,
and left for foreign duty in April of I968; and, #
WHEREAS, he was held in esteem by all his friends as a Christian and a { '
fine citizen: NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: �
That, in the death of Private James W. Davis, the City Council of the
City of Fort Worth mourns the loss of a man who has served our City Government
and his country; that, as a tribute to his memory, this resolution be adopted
by the Council and be spread upon the minutes of the-Council meeting; and that,
the City Council adjourn today in his honor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be furnished to
his wife, Mrs. Sandae Davis, and his mother, Mrs. Marie King, and other
surviving members of his family as an expression by the City Council members
of`their sympathy.
