HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 67 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS the Commissioners' Court of Tarrant County, Texas, and the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, are vitally concerned that maximum use be made of public funds and that needless duplication or overlapping of services by the two agencies be avoided, and WHEREAS there presently exist many significant areas of mutual concern in service and facilities where cooperative efforts between Fort Worth and Tarrant County will. be mutually beneficial, NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the following policy statement be adopted by the Tarrant County Commissioners' Court and the Fort Worth City Council in regard to cooperation in providing services and public facilities for citizens of both entities: 1) The City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County shall coordinate the planning of future public improvements to obtain maximum public utilization of such facilities. 2) The agencies adopting this resolution are committed to maximum cooperation in such other areas where cooperative efforts will result in improved services to their respective taxpayers, reduced costs or other mutual. benefits. 3) In order to carry out the intent of this statement of policy, there is hereby created a special City-County Liaison Committee. Such Committee shall be composed of two members of the Tarrant County Commissioners' Court, two members of the Fort Worth City Council, the City Manager, and the County Judge. This committee shall become officially constituted upon the appointment of its members and shall meet at least quarterly thereafter or upon special call at a time and place to be set by the Committee. 4) Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the governing body which they represent and shall serve until their successors are designated. e 5) The Committee shall be responsible for designating its own chair- man and secretary and for formulating detailed procedures to t+"% implement the above policy and the means by which recommendations to the Commissioners' Court and the City Council regarding matters of mutual concern shall be presented. 6) The Committee shall have the authority to expand the scope of its membership by adding representatives from other Cities and political subdivisions in Tarrant County to provide County-wide coordination of public improvements and services. f Adopted this day of , 1969, by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas., .�w CITY SECRETARY MAYOR Adopted this day of , 1969, by the Commissioners' Court of Tarrant County, Texas.
