HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 69 r � TE of, Tmc___AA&#_a.k j R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Ryan Place Improvement Association is an organization chartered by the State of Texas and is concerned with the status of property, its valuation, conservation, improve- ment and restoration, and with streets & thoroughfares in- cident and necessary to the maintenance of property values and residential desirability; and, WHEREAS, over 200 home-owners, renters, and owners of businesses have already voluntarily joined together as paid members of said Ryan Place Improvement Association, and many others among the over 1200 residents or business owners In and near the Ryan Addition are joining the Association every month; and, i WHEREAS, the Ryan Place Improvement Association wishes to cooperate in every possible way with the City, County, and State officials who are responsible for the long-range planning for the public use of lands within the chartered limits of the Ryan Place Improvement Association; and, WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Ryan Place Improvement Association that the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Transpor- tation Study of 1967 proposes a certain "desired" thorough- fare through the very heart of the Ryan Addition (Page 19)}, Figure 12.1: Recommended 1985 System; Page 196, Figure 12.2: 1964 Traffic Flow Compared to 1985 Forcasted Traffic Flow) ; and,, WHEREAS, the aforemgntioned Transportation Study repeatedly empha- sizes that "the location and alignment of various facilities - 1 - shown is not exact and represents general routes only" (page XXIV), and that "neighborhoods, schools, churches, (etc. ) are assured of protection in all phases of plan- ning" (page 181), and that "considerable additional de- tailed study will be necessary prior to the determination of the exact location of these facilities" (pages 193 & 202) ; NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE DULY ELECTED OFFICERS & DIRECTORS of the Ryan Place Improvement Association, do hereby declare the Associationts unanimous opposition to the construction of the proposed .thoroughfare above described in Paragraph 4; not wishing to obstruct programs of progress, however, we hereby further declare that the Ryan Place Improvement Association stands ready and requests to be invited as a partner in any future planning for the use of lands within the chartered limits of the Association or for areas ad- jacent to the Ryan Place Addition. To this end we request that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the mixiutes of this meeting of the Fort Worth City Council, and that the copies provided be forwarded by the City Secretary to the appropriate directors of planning for the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and the State of Texas.
