HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 70 ya RESOLUTION ' °� ro WHEREAS, the 1969 Tarrant County United Fund drive on October 24, 1969, exceeded its $3,960,267.00 goal for the 1970 support of its 65 member agencies; and, WHEREAS, employees of the City of Fort Worth contributed a total of $119,147.00 exceeding the highest goal ever assigned to them by 7%; and, WHEREAS, under the leadership of Mr. T. R. Buckman as City Employee Campaign Director, the department heads, division heads and de- partmental campaign executives faithfully carried the story of United Fund to all City employees, resulting in the employees contributing generously to the campaign; and WHEREAS, the employees of the City of Fort Worth demonstrated remarkable community interest and civic obligation by freely contributing to the welfare of those less fortunate citizens of Tarrant County who are served by the 65 member agencies of the United Fund: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: That all City employees be commended for their community interest and civic pride reflected by their outstanding contributions to the 1969 United Fund campaign. That appreciation be expressed to Mr. T. R. Buckman, City employee Campaign Director, the department heads and department campaign executives �- for faithfully carrying the story of United Fund to all City employees. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council and that copies be furnished to Mr. T. R. Buckman and every department and division of the City government.
