CiFORE, ft IT R1'.SOLVED BY TIM CITY COUNCIL OF TM` CITY OF FORT WWMi, TIiXAS: THAT the Legislature of the State of Texas be requested, en- couraged and urged, during its 1972 Special Session for the consideration of the budget of the State of Texas, to adopt legislation authorizing the cities of Texas Mho have, adopted the local sales and use tax to provide by ordinance for an increase in the local sales and use tax to any amowt not exceeding two percent (21). HL IT RIRTIIER RESOLVE that the Honorable Preston Smith, Governor, be requested, encouraged and urged to open the 1972 Special Session of the Legislature to allow consideration and adoption of legis- lation authorizing the cities of Texas who have adopted the local sales and use tax to provide by ordinaace for an increase in the local sales and use tax to any amount not exceeding two percent (2%).
