Mayor and Council CommunicatM DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: PAGE NUMBER Proposed closing of 13th Street 23 11-63 PZ-52 between Penn Street and Fournier Street iof `— The Church which owns the property both north and south of 13th Street, be- tween Penn and Fournier Streets, has requested that this section of the street be closed, sints it now serves only as a private drive to the church parking lot, and does not open into Fournier. All private utility companies and municipal departments have been contacted and do not &Sect to the proposed closing, provided the full width is re- served for utility easements. The City Plan Commission reviewed the request at its meeting on February 13, 1963, and recommended that the street be closed. Public Works Department, Traffic En#ineering Department and the Planning Department agree that, due to the rough terrain, it is improbable that a street could ever be opened between Penn and Fournier at this point. Council action is requested on an ordinance closing this portion of 13th Street as requested, but reserving the fall width of the street for any and all existing utilities.
