HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 119 COUNCIL CHAMBER February 12, 1913 RESOLUTIQN FILE NO. 4 WHEREAS, the Cities of Dallas and, Fort Worth have heretofore entered into an agreement effective February 14, 1972, providing for ground transportation service in connection with the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport, and known as IID/FW SURTRAN System"; and WHEREAS, the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth have heretofore entered into a joint agreement effective May 8, 1972, with the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport Board to provide ground transportation service in con- nection with said Regional Airport to be operated through Dallas Transit System; and WHEREAS, the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth have made a Joint Application (Project TX-03-0013) to the Department of Transportation, Washington, D. C. , for a capital grant in the amount of $2,274,000.00 for the purchase of busses and communication system, as well as the construction of airport kiosks for the operation of the D/FW SURTRAN System in connection with the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport; and WHEREAS, the officials of the Department of Transportation, Washington, D. C. , have requested that a single agency, namely the D/FW SURTRAN System, be designated as the agency of the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth to receive the capital grant applied for, if approved, and it is the recom- mendation of the Dallas Public Transit Board that the said D/FW SURTRAN System be designated as the agency to receive said grant funds ; Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION 1 . That the D/FW SURTRAN System, created pursuant to an agreement between the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, be and it is hereby designated as the agency to act on behalf of the said Cities to receive grant funds , if approved, by the Department of Transportation, in order to furnish ground transportation service in connection with the Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport. SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth, and it is accordingly so resolved.
