HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 10005 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 10005 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council May 2, 2017 h�T�i7 Page 1 of 1 �i �i7 Y *a SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNCIL-INITIATED ZONING CHANGES FOR rrn f CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE MARINE CREEK RANCH NEIGHBORHOOD IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 2 The May 9th City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the rezoning process for approximately 151 .3 acres, encompassing 461 parcels, of the Marine Creek Ranch neighborhood in the Far Northwest sector of Fort Worth. Councilmember Espino has requested the proposed zoning changes to rezone residential property and vacant land to a zoning classification that is consistent with the existing land uses and Comprehensive Plan. For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use designations in the Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. A meeting has been scheduled for the affected property owners on May 1 , 2017, in the Ed Wilke Middle School cafeteria, located at 6100 Texas Shiner Road, beginning at 6:30 p.m. One owner of vacant land has expressed opposition to date. Public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held by the Zoning Commission on June 14 and by the City Council on June 20.
