WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, hereinafter called Fort
Worth, is a Home Rule Municipal Corporation of Tarrant County, Texas,
with a population in'excess of one hundred thousand (100,000) inhabi-
tants and an extraterritorial jurisdiction limit of five (5) miles,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Azle, hereinafter called Azle, is a
Home Rule Municipal Corporation of Tarrant and Parker Counties, Texas,
with a population of five thousand (5,000) or more, but less than
twenty-five thousand (25,000) inhabitants and an extraterritorial jur-
isdiction limit of one (1) mile, and
WHEREAS, Fort Worth and Azle have municipal boundary lines
which are adjacent and contiguous at various points, and
WHEREAS, Fort Worth and Azle have extraterritorial juris-
diction areas which overlap, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth and the
City Council of Azle have found and determined that it is in the best
interests of the citizens of both cities and their surrounding areas
that the mutual common boundary line and the extraterritorial juris-
diction limit line between the two cities be determined, fixed and
established, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal Annexation Act (Art. 970a, Re-
vised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended) authorizes cities with
overlapping extraterritorial jurisdiction areas to apportion the same
by mutual agreement of their governing bodies;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH AND THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZLE:
SECTION 1
THAT the mutual common boundary line and extraterritorial
jurisdictional limit line between Fort Worth and Azle be and the same
is hereby determined, fixed and ratified and the same is hereby par-
ticularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for-corner in the south
right-of-way line of Scotland Avenue at its
intersection with the east line of the J.
Wilcox Survey, Abstract No. 1702.
THENCE West, along and with the south right-
of-way line of Scotland Avenue approximately
1,800 feet to a point for corner at its inter-
section with the northeasterly right-of-way
line of Jacksboro Highway (State Highway No.
199).
THENCE Southwesterly, crossing Jacksboro High-
way (State Highway No. 199) at right angles to
its centerline to a point for corner in the
'el` southwesterly right-of-way line of Jacksboro
Highway (State Highway No. 199).
THENCE Northwesterly, along and with the south-
westerly right-of-way line of Jacksboro Highway
(State Highway No. 199) to a point for corner
at its intersection with the south right-of-way
line of Scotland Avenue.
THENCE Westerly, along and with the south right-
of-way line of Scotland Avenue to a point for
corner at its intersection with the south right-
of-way line of Florence Drive,
THENCE Westerly, along and with the south right-
of-way line of Florence Drive approximately 6,800
feet to a point for corner at its intersection
with the east right-of-way line of Silver Greek
Road (Tarrant County Road No. 4122).
THENCE South, along and with the east right-of-
way line of Silver Creek Road (Tarrant County
Road No. 4122) to a point for corner at its
intersection with the north line of the Texas
Electric Service Company transmission line right-
of-way.
THENCE North 78 degrees West, along .and with the
north line of the Texas Electric Service Company
transmission line right-of-way approximately 6,200
feet 'to a point for corner at its intersection
with the south right-of-way line of a County Road.
THENCE generally Northwesterly, along and with the
generally southwesterly right-of-way line of said
County Road, with its meanders, the following ap-
proximate courses and distances:
THENCE North 67 degrees West 2,500 feet,
THENCE North 11 degrees West 800 feet,
THENCE West 250 feet,

THENCE North 60 degrees West 750 feet,
THENCE North 6 degrees West 600 feet,
THENCE North 29 degrees West 1,800 feet,
THENCE North 53 degrees West 1,400 feet, and
+�* THENCE West, 5,300 feet to a point for corner in
the east right-of-way line, produced South, of a
Parker County Road.
THENCE North, to and along and with the east
right-of-way line of a Parker County Road ap-
proximately 3,100 feet to a point for corner.
THENCE North, to a point for corner for the Westerly
southwest corner of Sanctuary, Incorporated.
THENCE East, South, East and North, along and with
the city limit line of Sanctuary, Incorporated, to
a point for its northeast corner.
THENCE North, to a point for corner in the south
city limit line of Reno, Inc.
THENCE East and North, along and with the city lim-
it line of Reno, Inc., to its northeast corner, in
the Tarrant and Parker County line.
THENCE North, along and with the Tarrant and Parker
County line to a point for corner at its intersec-
tion with the centerline of Portwood Drive.
THENCE East, along and with the centerline of Port-
wood Drive to a point for city limit line corner of
Briar, Inc.
THENCE East, South and East, along and with the
city limit line of Briar, Inc., to a point for cor-
ner at its intersection with the west shore line of
Eagle Mountain Lake at normal pool elevation 649
feet mean sea level.
THENCE in a generally Southerly direction, along
and with the west shore line of Eagle Mountain Lake
at normal pool elevation 649 feet mean sea level,
with its meanders, to a point for corner at its
intersection with the east right-of-way line of
Wallace Road, produced North.
THENCE South, to and along and with the east right-
of-way line of Wallace Road to a point for corner at
its intersection with the north right-of-way line of
Wells-Burnett Road.
THENCE West, along and with the north right-of-way-
line of Wells-Burnett Road to a point for corner at
its intersection with the east line of the J. Wilcox
Survey, Abstract No. 1702.
THENCE South, along and with the east line of the
J. Wilcox Survey, Abstract No. 1702, to the place of
beginning.

SECTION 2
THAT Fort Worth hereby relinquishes to Azle all extraterri-
torial1jurisdictional rights it may have within the area circumscribed
by the above described line.
SECTION 3
THAT Azle hereby relinquishes to Fort Worth all extraterri-
torial jurisdictional rights it may have without the area circumscribed
by the above described line.
SECTION 4

THAT Fort Worth and Azle mutually covenant and agree to pro-
tect, preserve and defend the mutually agreed common boundary line and
extraterritorial jurisdiction agreement.
SECTION 5
THAT this agreement shall become binding upon Fort Worth and
Azle upon the adoption of this Joint Resolution in regular open City
Council meetings of Fort Worth and Azle.
SECTION 6
THAT this Joint Resolution, upon adoption by Fort Worth and
Azle, shall be executed in duplicate originals and shall be transcribed
and spread in full upon the Minutes of both cities.
SECTION 7
THAT the above referenced and described mutual common bound-
ary line and extraterritorial jurisdiction limit line is shown on
Awk Exhibit A, a map attached hereto and expressly incorporated herein by

reference for the purpose of illustrating and depicting the hereinabove
mutual common boundary line and extraterritorial jurisdiction line.
