The ordinance resulted from a community effort led by the 35W Coalition to encourage quality development along the 1-35W corridor, extending from the core of Fort Worth into southern Denton County. Through a series of public meetings, the 35W Coalition created the 1-35W development standards and guidelines to address landscaping, lighting, and site planning in order to enhance the economic value of all property in the corridor.
