HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 33230-A8 AMENDMENT NO.8 TO AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES NEW CONVENTION CENTER PARKING STRUCTURE STATE OF TEXAS z CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. ✓ COUNTY OF TARRANT WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Jacobs Facilities, Inc. (Architect)made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33230 (The Contract)which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21271, the 24th day of January, 2006; and WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary to reimburse the Architect for additional design services to include the coordination with the Omni Hotel's design consultant(HOK)for the new sidewalk widening reconfigurations of the FWCC Parking Garage on Houston St&Throckmorton St, including, but not limited to landscaping and irrigation modifications ; and NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article 1.1, SECTION I—SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a paragraph is added to read as follows: "Provide additional design services for the coordination with the Omni Hotel's design consultant (HOK)for the new sidewalk widening reconfigurations of the FWCC Parking Garage on Houston St&Throckmorton St, including, but not limited to landscaping and irrigation modifications." The cost of this additional service is $14,214, plus up to $500 in reimbursable expenses. The scope of services is described more fully in the Jacobs letter dated January 6, 2009, subject: City of Fort Worth, Convention Center Parking Garage, Proposal for Side Walk Widening Design Services, Project No. F5W71600 which is attached hereto as Attachment"A" and made a part of this Agreement." 2. Paragraph 1 of SECTION V-COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in CHARACTER of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES (Section III hereof) shall be $1,297,372, hereinafter referred to as the"total fee", plus up to$30,500 in reimbursable expenses." 3. Following you will find an itemized discussion of our understanding of the project history, scope, schedule, and fee requirements. PROJECT HISTORY During September of 2008 the City of Fort Worth asked Jacobs to prepare a fee proposal to accommodate the widening of the sidewalks along both Throckmorton and Houston Streets into the Parking Garage project. As such, following is our proposal for additional services for this task. SCOPE OF SERVICES Our services will include coordination with the Omni Hotel's design consultant(HOK)for the sidewalk configuration, landscaping/irrigation details and any special construction phasing issues. Jacobs will attend coordination meetings with the City of Fort Worth and other interested parties. Jacobs will coordinate with our subconsultant(URS Corporation/Lopez Garcia Group)to make sure the civil engineering design and drawings complies with the proposed side walk widening project. SCHEDULE We can begin on these additional services immediately upon being given a written notice to proceed and will issue the revised Construction Documents to the City of Fort Worth and Thomas S. Byrne as soon as possible. Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. The following is a detailed breakdown of the proposed fee. Please note the hourly rates shown below are those included in our original contract increased by 4 percent in accordance with the rate schedule. Central Expressway Suite 400, MB13 Dallas, TX 75206 RE: Request for Supplemental Agreement(Amendment No.4) City of Fort Worth Convention Center Parking Garage Fort Worth, TX LGGROUP Project No.: 205138.00 Dear Mr. Lacey: As requested by Glenn Balog with the City of Fort Worth, LGGROUP is pleased to provide this fee proposal for revising the Fort Worth Convention Center Parking Garage construction plans (Civil only) to accommodate the widening of the proposed sidewalks along Houston and Throckmorton Streets by others. LGGROUP proposes to perform the above mentioned services for a total Lump Sum fee of$2,500.00. A breakdown of these services is as follows: 1. Adjust proposed sidewalk grades to coordinate with the additional proposed 10' sidewalk widening by others along Houston and Throckmorton Streets. 2. Modify the proposed 7" curbs along 11th and future 12 1h Streets to match the proposed 6" curbs along Houston St. and Throckmorton Streets by others. 3. Design and modify existing construction details to accommodate connections between the current proposed sidewalk and the additional widened sidewalk by others.
