WHEREAS, the City terminated contracts with Avizion Technologies Group and accepted the
resignation of David Miller head of the Information Technologies Department, and two
other employees of that department, and
WHEREAS, the termination of the Avizion Technologies Group contract has caused a potential
contract dispute and David Miller Jay Matthews and Robert Matkixi have filed age
discrimination charges with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and
WHEREAS, because of the extraordinary importance of these issues rt is necessary to retain outside
legal counsel to represent the City in the disputes; and
WHEREAS, Gary Ingram and Robert C. Curfiss of the law firm of Jackson Walker possess the required
knowledge and expertise m civil litigation, information technology contracts and
employment issues and have agreed. to represent the City ~-

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
That Gary Ingram and Robert C. Curfiss of the law firm Jackson Walker, pursuant to Section 3
Chapter VI of the City Charter are employed to represent the City of Fort Worth regarding contract
disputes with Avizion Technology Group and employment issues with past Information Technology
Department employees and to advise the City Attorney in matters relating thereto

That, as far as practicable, the compensation to be paid to Gary Ingram and Robert C. Curfiss for
their services is hereby fixed in an amount not to ceed $30,000
