On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, Brian Dickerson presented information on the financial challenges of
the City's healthcare fund. Among other things, the recommendations included the shift of the
City's health plan to two options: a High-Deductible/Health Savings Account or a City-wide clinic
with a narrow network.
Based on the questions raised by Councilmembers, we will be postponing the Mayor & Council
Communication (M&C) on the contract with Premise Health as a clinic provider for the City until
August. This will allow a more thorough discussion of the financial implications and options
during the annual budget process.
The M&C authorizing the transition of the City's prescription benefit manager from EnvisionRx to
OptumRx, effective October 1 , remains on the June 20th agenda for consideration. In addition, the
appropriation ordinances to cover the current year claims overages will also be on the agenda.
If you have any additional questions in the meantime, please contact Brian Dickerson, Human
Resources Director, at 817.392.7783 or Susan Alanis, Assistant City Manager, at 817.392.8180
