Currently the City and Envision Pharmaceutical Services, LLC are parties to a Pharmacy Benefit Management Services Agreement (Fort Worth City Secretary Contract 46250, as amended by Fort Worth City Secretary Contracts 46250-A1). The Initial Term of the agreement, as amended, expires December 31, 2017, The City working.through its consultant the Trion Group, reviewed its pharmacy benefits plan in an effort to reduce City costs while generally maintaining benefit levels. Envision participated in that process but could not match the more advantageous price and service offerings available with Optum Pharmacy Consortium. Because the new provider will allow the City to achieve substantial cost savings on its pharmaceutical expenditures, the City has decided to begin processing claims through the new vendor effective October 1, 2017. In accordance with the agreement between Envision and the City, the initial Term of the contract runs through the end of the current year (December 31, 2017), and the City will continue to pay Envision's monthly administrative fee and other applicable fees through the end of the Initial Term in accordance with Exhibit 1 of the agreement, as amended. In accordance with Section 6.1 of the agreement between Envision and the City, the contract automatically renews unless one of the party's provides written notice of non-renewal at least ninety (90) days prior to the end of the then-current term. Therefore, as provided in Section 6.1, the City hereby provides Envision with written notice of the City's intent not to renew the Pharmacy Benefit Management Services Agreement at the end of the current, Initial Term,which expires December 31, 2017.
