ADOPTING THE FIRST AMENDMENT
TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH'S ANNEXATION PLAN
WHEREAS on December 14 1999 the City Council approved Resolution No 2598
adopting an annexation plan for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with Section 43 052 of the
Texas Local Government Code
WHEREAS Section 43 052(c) provides that a municipality may amend its annexation
plan to identify annexations that may occur begmmng on the third anniversary of the date the
plan is amended,
WHEREAS on July 9 2002 the City Council approved a timetable to consider annexing
the area known as Linkwood Estates for limited purposes, providing for public hearings on
August 13 2002 and August 27 2002, and consideration of adoption of an ordinance annexing
the area for lirxuted purposes on September 17 2002
WHEREAS Linkwood Estates consists of approximately 136 existing residential
dwellings on approximately 152 acres located south of I.H. 30 and west of the Lost Creek
subdivision and is more specifically described on the map attached as Exhibit A and by the
legal description attached as Exhibit `B"
WHEREAS pursuant to Sections 43 123 and 43 127 of the Texas Local Government
Code, if Linkwood Estates is annexed for limited purposes, the area must be annexed for full
purposes within three years thereafter
WHEREAS, Linkwood Estates is not subject to any of the annexation plan exemptions
set out in Section 43 052(h) of the Texas Local Government Code,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH:
That the City's annexation plan approved on December 14 1999 by the adoption of
Resolution No 2598 is hereby amended to include Linkwood Estates as described on attached
Exhibits A and `B
Further that the annexation of Linkwood Estates for full purposes may occur beginning
on the third anniversary of the date of this plan amendment.

LINKWOOD ESTATES LEGAL DESCRIPTION
A parcel of land situated in the J Burleson Survey Abstract Number 78 the W Houston
Survey Abstract Number 719 situated about 11 '/z miles South 77 degrees West from
the Courthouse in Tarrant County Texas, being on the waters of the South Fork of
Mary's Creek, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at the northwest corner of that certain annexation described in Ordnance
Number 727? being the northeast corner of that certain annexation described ~n
Ordinance Number 8965 (bearing base) and being the northeast corner of Mary's Creek
Estates, according to plat recorded in Volume 388-176 Page 42, Plat Records, Tarrant
County Texas and being in the present south right-of way of I 30 according to the
`Final R. O W Map of I 30 Project Designator 7006 and 7007
THENCE. with the present City Limit line, and the north line of said Mary's Creek
Estates, and the south line of I 30 North 83 degrees 48 minutes West, 61 6 feet;
THENCE with the present City Limit line, and continuing with the north line of said
Mary s Creek Estates, and the south line of I 30 South 77 degrees 36 minutes West,
1.02 9 feet;
THENCE. with the present City Limit line and continuing with the north line of said
Mary's Creek Estates, and the south line of I 30 North 68 degrees 47 minutes West,

THENCE. with the present City Limit line, and continuing with the north line of said

and a line 960 varas east of the west line of said Houston Survey South O1 degrees 08
minutes West, 1453 4 feet (called 1442 67 in Ordnance Number 8965), to the southwest
corner of Mary's Creek Estates, and said annexation
THENCE. with the present City Limit line, the south line of said Mary's Creek Estates,
departing said line 960 varas east of the west line of said Houston Survey South 89
degrees 28 minutes East, 5 varas (13 89 feet) to the northeast corner of that certain tract
descnbed by deed recorded in Volume 1629 Page 269 Deed Records, Tarrant County
Texas, being the northwest corner of Block 12, Lost Creek according to plat recorded
~n Volume 388-115 Page 97 Plat Records, Tarrant County Texas, the northwest corner
of the C E. Burkham Survey Abstract Number 246 and bung the most westerly
northwest corner of said annexation descnbed m Ordnance Number 7277
THENCE. with the present City Limit line the east line of said tract, and the west line of
said Block 12, and said Burkham Survey South O1 degrees 08 minutes West, 520 11 feet,
to the southeast corner of said Houston Survey
THENCE. with the south line of said survey departing the west line of said Block 12,
said Burkham Survey and the current City Limits line North 89 degrees 52 minutes

feet, to the northwest corner El Rancho Drive as shown on the plat of El Rancho Estates,
according to plat recorded in Volume 388-B Page 265 Plat Records, Tarrant County

THENCE. with the west line of said El Rancho Estates, South O1 degrees 1 i minutes
West, 94 O1 feet, to the most northerly northeast corner of said annexation descnbed by

THENCE. with the present Crty Limit line, and said south right-of way departing the
west line of said El Rancho Estates, North 89 degrees 52 minutes West, 2175 98 feet, to
the place of beginning, and containing 214 75 acres (0.335 square miles) of land, more
or less.
