HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2884~g~ Resolution No.. , ADOPTING THE THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH'S,ANNEXATION PLAN WHEREAS, on December 14 1999 the City Council approved Resolution. No. 2598 adopting an annexation plan for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with Section 43.052 of the Texas Local Government Code; WHEREAS, Section 43.052(c) provides that a municipality may amend its annexation plan to identify annexations that may occur beginning on the third anniversary of the date the plan is amended, WHEREAS, the territory described in Exhibits A and A 1 which has been referred to as Eagle Mountain areas 8W and 10, consists of two areas totaling approximately 1,238 acres located north and east of Boat Club Road and south of Bonds Ranch, Tarrant County Texas; WHEREAS, the territory described in Exhibits `B" and `B-1 which has been referred to as the 287 Zone, consists of three areas totaling approximately 7 744 acres located west of I.H. 35 and north and south of U.S. Highway 287 Tarrant County Texas, WHEREAS, on August 27 2002, the City Council approved a timetable to consider the annexation of approximately 1,920 acres in Eagle Mountain 8W and 10 and approximately 13,065 acres in the 287 Zone for limited purposes, 4~ WHEREAS, the City Council has deleted portions of both areas from the current limited purpose annexation process and will consider limited purpose annexation at this time of 1,238 acres in Eagle Mountain 8W and 10 and 7 744 acres in the 287 Zone, which areas are described in the attached exhibits, WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 43 123 and 43 127 of the Texas Local Government Code, an area that is annexed for limited purposes must be annexed for full purposes within three years thereafter NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: That the City's annexation plan approved on December 14 1999 by the adoption of Resolution No. 2598 is hereby further amended to include the areas described as Eagle Mountain 8W and 10, as described in attached Exhibits A and A 1 and the areas described as the 287 Zone, as described in attached Exhibits `B" and `B-1 Further that the annexation of such areas may occur beginning on the third anniversary of the date of this plan amendment.
