HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2896A Resolution NO S~ SETTING THE SALARY OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION DIRECTOR FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 WHEREAS, the City Code grants the power to the Human Relations Commission (Commission) to set the salary of the Human Relations Commission Director ~n accordance with the classification and compensation plan for city employees; and WHEREAS, the salary set by the Commission shall be approved by the City Manager and by the City Council, and WHEREAS, the Commission has evaluated Vanessa Ruiz Boling, the Human Relations Comm~ss~on Director for her performance during fiscal year 2001 2002 and determined and recommends that Ms. Bolmg's salary should be set at $87,241 44 for fiscal year 2002 2003 and WHEREAS, in recommending the above salary the Commission notes the recent U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development's recognition of the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission as the highest producing non-state Fair Housing Assistance Program in the nation, and WHEREAS, the individual work of Ms. Boling in the field of Human Relations is also recognized through her selection to conduct training for new directors at the national conference of the International Association of Official Human Rights Agencies, and WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office agrees with and approves of the Commission s recommendation and recognizes Ms. Boling's leadership and efforts in several important projects for the City Manager's Office including the All Employee Conferences recently held NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS That the City Council through this resolution hereby agrees with the Commission s recommendation and authorizes the setting of the recommended salary for the Human Relations Director (Vanessa Ruiz Boling) at $87,241 44 for the fiscal year 2002 2003 AND IT IS SO RESOLVED Ado d ~th~i;== -: AT_T..EST., °~'~ W, _~ ~.. ~;. z ,..
