HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2760A Resolution NO {Priority for FWHA Low Income Tax Credit Applications} WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is supportive of efforts to utilize existing and available resources in a manner that will provide the best possible housing for the citizens of Fort Worth, and WHEREAS, the Fort Worth Housing Authority (FWHA) has adopted a Redevelopment Plan to improve the housing and the quality of life of the residents of the Ripley Arnold Apartments, and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Plan calls for the replacement of the housing units at Ripley Arnold in mixed income apartments; and WHEREAS, the construction or acquisition of replacement housing units at Ripley Arnold will require public financial assistance, and WHEREAS the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) offers Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) that could assist with the financing of Ripley Arnold s replacement housing units, and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth certifies Consistency of LIHTC applications with the City's Consolidated Plan and provides letters of support to desirable applications NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCII. OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, that the following paragraph be included in the City of Fort Worth s Consolidated Plan for 2000-2003 and subsequent years `The City of Fort Worth supports the Fort Worth Housing Authority s (FWHA) Redevelopment Plan to improve the housing and the quality of life of the residents of the Ripley Arnold Apartments. In providing letters of support and Certificates of Consistency with the Consolidated Plan, the City of Fort Worth will give the highest priority to LIHTC applications developed by or in partnership with the FWHA.
