Texas Wesleyan University and The City of Fort Worth
This Memorandum of Understanding("MOU") is made effective as of the 23`d day of August,
2017 by and between Texas Wesleyan University, a Texas nonprofit organization("University"),
and the City of Fort Worth, a home rule municipal corporation of the State of Texas, having its
principal office located at 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth TX, 76102 ("City").
This MOU between University and City is the cornerstone of a partnership that empowers City to
develop, train and retain leaders in all facets of its operations through University's industry-
aligned graduate education programs. This MOU is a license to thrive; through it, employees
become leaders, workers become problems solvers and the City is seen by its peers and the
community as a trailblazer in human capital development.
Benefits Offered by University
1. In consideration of the relationship established by this MOU, the University will provide a
15% tuition discount to City employees, spouses and dependents who meet the admissions
requirements and enroll in the University's graduate degree programs,except programs offered
by the Graduate School of Nurse Anesthesia. Subject to verification of employment with the
City, reduced tuition will apply to the current tuition rates at the time the student enrolls in a
graduate degree program at the University. All students are subject to the University's student
policies and are solely responsible for the tuition and fees incurred while enrolled in the
University.
2. As an incentive to benefit a greater number of students, the University will provide an
additional discount of 5%to the City's employees who enroll into a graduate program at Texas
Wesleyan University at the same time as at least 14 students from the City.
3. The University will provide a dedicated link on the University website to assist City employees
with enrollment.
4. The University will provide enrollment and educational information to be distributed to the
City's employees, subject to the City's policies and discretion, to support the City's internal
promotion of this educational opportunity.
City Contributions
1. Subject to the City's discretion, and in compliance with the City's internal policies, the City
communicate the benefits of this MOU and the many educational opportunities available

General Terms and Conditions
1. The University will administer and deliver graduate programs in compliance with all
educational standards established by accrediting agencies for the graduate programs and for
the University.
2. Subject to prior written approval, the City grants the University a limited, non-exclusive right
to use the City's name and logo in writing solely for purposes of fulfilling communications to
the City's employees pursuant to this MOU and to make the courses and course materials
available to the City's employees.
3. Each party agrees to abide by all applicable Federal and State Laws.
4. This MOU does not create any rights, title, or interest for any entity other than the University
and the City.
5. With the exception of either party's compliance with state public information laws, subpoenas
or court orders, both parties agree that they will not disclose the terms of this MOU to any
unrelated third parties without the other party's prior written consent
6. Either party may terminate this MOU upon thirty (30) days prior written notice. If the
University believes that the MOU might violate any law or regulation, adversely affect its
accreditation, or any license or exemption issued by a Federal or State educational board or
commission, the University may terminate the MOU immediately upon written notice to the
City.
7. Students who are currently enrolled prior to the date of termination of this MOU will continue
to receive the tuition discount for the program or course of study that the student is currently
enrolled in, provided the student does not take a break in attendance for more than three
consecutive seven-week terms, or misses two fall and spring terms. If an employee is out of
attendance for more than one year,the employee will no longer be eligible for the City discount
provided for herein.
8. This MOU and the legal relations among the parties shall be governed by and construed in
accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and venue shall be in Tarrant County, Texas.
9. This agreement becomes effective when executed.
