WHEREAS, the TXI Operations, L.P of Dallas, Texas has requested by written and signed
petition that the City physically close a portion of Norwood Drive from a point 700 feet south of its
intersection with Trimty Boulevard to the north nght-of way line of Trammel Davis Road, at said
property owner's expense. Said street is 40 feet m width by approxunately 2,210 feet in length,
contaimng approximately 88,400 square feet, and is currently unopened and unimproved, and
WHEREAS, this partial street closure is to enhance site security and to allow said property
owner's internal truck traffic to better circulate and avoid area city streets. Existing utilities are to
remain in place and the City's Transportation and Public Works Department has approved the
methods for and tuning of, the gate and lock equipment closing mechamsms to be installed, and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Fort Worth has reviewed this request and
recommends that the request be approved,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
That the existing Norwood Dnve from a point 700 feet south of its intersection v~nth Truuty
Boulevard to the north right-of way line of Trammel Davis Road, and as more specifically
described in Exhibit "A attached hereto and incorporated herein, be physically closed with a fence
and a locked gate at the aforesaid abutting property owners' expense, with the City to retain title to
the public right-of way m said street, retauung any and all easements for existing and prospective
utilities, and retauung the right of access at all times for the purpose of maintaining existing and
prospective utility facilities located m the aforesaid portions of said street.
In addition, the City reserves the right, at the sole discretion of the City Council, to reopen
by resolution the aforesaid street to public travel at any rime by directing the removal of the
aforesaid fence and locked gate, all costs and expense of said removal to be borne by the aforesaid
abutting property owners.
