S READ, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Kimley-Horn
and Associates, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City
Secretary Contract No. 45872, (the CONTRACT) which was
authorized by M&C C-26873 on the 22nd day of July, 2014 in the
amount of $208,150 .00; and
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by
Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $120, 649 .00 which was
authorized by M&C C -27909 on September 13, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for
the following project:
Bellaire Drive South and Arborlawn Drive Sanitary Sewer
Main Replacements; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment
No.2 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and
revised fee.
NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT:

Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated
July 12, 2017, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional
design services to be performed by Engineer totals $56,800.00 .
2 .
Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an
increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and
services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be
an amount of $385,599.00
3.
All other provisions of the Contract, which are not
expressly amended herein, shall remain in ful:Lr--,r- alzda

This letter is in reference to the contract between Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (Kimley-Horn)and
the City of Fort Worth(the City)dated 08-21-2014 referred to herein as the"Contract
This amendment will provide for additional 2,200 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer fine design along
Bellaire Drive South from Overton Woods Drive to Mist Hollow Court, 300 linear feet of 8-inch water
line design for Green Arbor Court and Mist Hollow Court,and pavement design services for the
outside southbound lane of Bellaire Drive South from Overton Woods Drive to Mist Hollow Court which
were not included in the original contract, these services will be performed as Amendment No. 2. The
additional sanitary sewer and pavement design is required to avoid conflicts between multiple existing
sanitary sewer laterals(L-8400, L-8401, L-8402, L-8411, L-8413, and L-8414)and a proposed 8'x8'
reinforced concrete box storm drain which is being designed by another consultant, but associated
with the same construction contract.
ITEM 1 SANITARY SEWER DESIGN: $19,850Klmley-Horn
(Water$0, Sewer$19,850)
Kimley-Hom will design additional sanitary sewer line segments within the Bellaire Drive South corridor
including:
• Conceptual Design layout for approximately 2,200 linear feet of parallel 12-inch sanitary sewer
from Overton Woods Drive to Mist Hollow Court
• Preliminary(60%) and Final(90%and Construction Drawings)for approximately 2,200 linear
feet of parallel 12-inch sanitary sewer from Overton Woods Drive to Mist Hollow Court, and
applicable City Standard Details
• Traffic Control Details associated with the parallel sanitary sewer construction
ITEM 2 — WATER LINE DESIGN: $3,500 Kimley-Horn

Kimley-Hom will design water line segments within the Bellaire Drive South corridor including:

feet of parallel 8-Inch water line(plan view only) in Mist Hollow Court and Green Arbor Court,
and applicable city standard details
ITEM 3 - BELLAIRE PAVING DESIGN: $27,030 Kimley-Nom
(Water$0, Sewer$27,030)
Kimley-Hom will design paving improvements for the reconstruction of the outside southbound lane of
Bellaire Drive South between Overton Woods Drive and Briarhaven Drive:
• Preliminary(60%) and Final(90%and Construction Drawings)for the following:
■ Up to five(5)storm drain inlet location and sizing
■ Up to four(4)side street profiles and grading(Overton Woods Drive, Lantem Hollow
Street, Clear Fork Trail,and Ranch View Road)
■ Up to eleven(11)driveway profiles and grading
■ Revisions to signing plans in current roadway design
■ Revisions to striping plans in current roadway design
■ Revisions to removal plans in current roadway design
■ Revisions to paving plans in current roadway design
■ Roadway cross-sections
■ Revisions to traffic control phasing in current roadway design
ITEM 4 - CUL-DE-SAC PAVING DESIGN: $6,420 Kimley-Horn
(Water$3,210, Sewer$3,210)
Kmley-Horn will design paving improvements for Green Arbor Court and Mist Hollow Court including:
• Performing two(2)soil borings to a depth often(10)feet below existing grades to determine
existing pavement section and soil conditions.
• Perform pavement section design for proposed pavement replacement.
Indicate proposed pavement section detail In the drawings.

HEARING:
SUBJECT: Adopt Appropriation Ordinances in the Collective Amount of$71,800.00 for Increased
Project Management Costs on Bellaire Drive South and Arborlawn Drive Sanitary Sewer
Main Replacements (COUNCIL DISTRICT 3)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinances increasing
estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Projects Fund in the amount of$11,710.00 from
available fund and Sewer Capital Project Fund-Legacy in the amount of$60,090.00 from available
funds for the purpose of funding Bellaire Drive South and Arborlawn Drive Sanitary Sewer Main
Replacements. (City Project No. CO2321)
DISCUSSION:
On July 22, 2014 Mayor and Council Communication (M&C C-26873) the City Council authorized an
engineering Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, in the amount of$218,150.00 for
Arborlawn Drive Sanitary Sewer Main Replacements. The Agreement was subsequently revised by
Amendment No. 1 in the amount of$120,649.00 on September 13, 2016 (M&C C-27909).
The Project requires additional funding for project management and to cover costs associated with
Amendment No. 2, in the amount of$56,800.00, that provides for additional engineering services on
the project.
This project will have no impact on the Water Department's operating budget when completed.
Design is expected to be completed by March 2018. Construction is expected to start in August 2018
and be completed by December 2019. The total cost for Bellaire Drive South and Arborlawn Drive
Sanitary Sewer Main Replacements is estimated to be $4,574,229.00.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 3.
This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of
the attached appropriation ordinances, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as
appropriated, of the Water Capital Fund and the Sewer Capital Fund - Legacy. The Fiscal Year 2017
Water Operating Budget includes appropriations of$21,060,000.00 for the purpose of providing Pay-
As-You-Go Funding for Water Capital Projects. After this transfer for Fiscal Year 2017, the balance
will be $68,898.00. The Fiscal Year 2017 Water Operating Budget includes appropriations of
$31,636,073.00 for the purpose of providing Pay-As-You-Go Funding for Sewer Capital Projects.
After this transfer for Fiscal Year 2017, the balance will be $265,442.00.
