AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT
FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR S OFFICE
UNDER THE SAFEIDRUG-FREE SCHOOLS AND COMMiJNITIES ACT FOR
THE DIAMOND HILL COALITION AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
WHEREAS the City of Fort Worth (City) desires to apply for a grant from the Criminal
Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office under the Safe and Drug Free Schools and
Commumties Act for the grant funding period begimm~g September 1 1999 and ending August 31
2000• and
WHEREAS, the City has previously received grant awards from the CJD for the funding of
the Diamond Hill Coalition After-School Program (the Program) for the grant periods begimm~g
September 1 1996, and ending August 31 1999• and
WHEREAS, the Program is administered by the Parks and Commumty Services
Department and services are provided through subgrant agreements wrath the YMCA and Camp Fire
agencies,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS
That the City Manager is authorized to apply for and accept the grant.
2. That the City Manager or designated Assistant City Manager is authorized to sign any or all
documents pertaimng to the grant.
3 That the City agrees to the terms of the grant, including all rules m Chapter 3 of the Texas
Admimstrative Code, the current Governor's Cnmmal Justice Plan for Texas, and the
Umform Grant and Contract Management Standards.
4 That the City agrees that none of the grant funds or any matching funds will be used to
influence the outcome of any election, the passage or defeat of legislation, or the funding of
any grant.
That the City understands and agrees that violation of any term of the grant will result m the
CJD placing a temporary hold on grant funds, permanently deobhgatmg all or part of the
grant funds, requmng reimbursement for funds already spent, or barring the City from
receiving future grants. In the event of loss or misuse of funds, the City Council assures that
funds will be returned to the CJD m full.
