Adopt Supplemental Appropriation Ordinance Increasing Appropriations in the Culture and Tourism
Fund in the Amount of $114,302.00 for State of Texas Mandated Escalator Repairs at the Will
Rogers Memorial Center and the Fort Worth Convention Center
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to adopt the attached ordinance
increasing appropriations in the Culture and Tourism Fund in the amount of $114,302.00 and decreasing

After completing annual escalator inspections at the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Will Rogers
Memorial Center, the Department of Public Events was notified that it has several code violations and is
required by the State of Texas to repair or have contracted the repair within 60 days of June 2, 2008. The
total cost estimate from ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corporation for repairing the code violations at both
facilities is $114,302.00.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2008, City Council authorized M&C C-22952 increasing the not to exceed amount of
the contract with ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corporation in order to include these repairs.

The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached supplemental appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, of the Culture and Tourism Fund. Upon approval, the unaudited, undesignated fund balance
of the Culture and Tourism Fund will be $4,266,550.00.
