DISCUSSION: The Neighborhood Association of Lost Creek Estates has requested zoning changes for property depicted in Attachment A. The parcels are currently zoned A-5 One Family and F General Commercial.The proposed zoning is PD Planned Development/A-10 One Family with 20-foot minimum front yard setbacks and 50% maximum lot coverage, site plan waived. The vast majority of the lots are 10,000 square feet in size orlarger. The existing golf clubhouse is zoned F and the golf course is allowed in all One Family zoning districts. City staff has received a development plan for subdividing the Lost Creek golf course into a single-family subdivision with minimum lot sizes of 7,200 square feet. , The proposed PD/A-10 zoning would help protect the neighborhood from future subdivisions that are inconsistent with the prevailing lot sizes. LEGALITY: The Department of Law finds that this proposal is legal and that it is within the authority of the City Council. FISCAL NOTE: The Director of Finance certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds. CITY MANAGER'S COMMENT: The City Manager has no objection to the proposed Council-initiated zoning changes.
