Amendment No. 1
KHA No. 061018189
City Secretary No.49256- City Project No. 100987
Dear John:
This letter is in reference to a contract between Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (Kimley-Horn) and
the City of Fort Worth (the City)dated 07-05-2017 referred to herein as the"Contract".
Kimley-Horn is pleased to submit our Amendment No. 1 for the City's NTE Segment 4 IH-820 Water
Relocations Project. The fees for this Amendment are not to exceed$17,000, increasing the total not
to exceed fee to $558,500. This engineering agreement is 100% reimbursable by TxDOT. M&C C-
28285 (6/20/2017) appropriated an additional $550,000 for land costs and city staff time.We propose
that$17,000 be deducted from the$550,000 amount. Thus, the total amount approved by C-28285 of
$1,091,500 will remain unchanged.
This project has been on an accelerated schedule due to the December 2017 TxDOT letting schedule.
An alignment that met TxDOT and City standards was chosen and geotechnical and surrey information
was gathered. Further coordination with a developer has moved the water line relocation further south,
thus requiring additional geotechnical and survey information to cross the existing main lanes of I1-1-
820.
Kimley-Horn will continue the services outlined as follows:
TASK 4. FINAL DESIGN AND FINAL CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
ENGINEER will provide additional Geotechnical Investigation support as follows.
• Two (2) additional soil investigations, including field and laboratory tests, borings, related
engineering analysis and recommendations for determining soil conditions will be made. In
addition to the above investigations, borings and appropriate field and laboratory analysis will
be made at reasonable intervals along the project alignment for the Contractor's use in
determining soil conditions

TASK 8. SURVEY AND SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING SERVICES.
• ENGINEER will perform an additional One-Thousand (1,000) linear feet of field surveys to collect
horizontal and vertical elevations and other information needed by ENGINEER in design and
preparation of plans for the project. Information gathered during the survey shall include
topographic data, elevations of all sanitary and adjacent storm sewers, rim/invert elevations,
location of buried utilities, structures, trees (measure caliper, identify overall canopy, and have
qualified arborist identify species of trees), and other features relevant to the final plan sheets.
Existing drainage at intersections will be verified by field surveys. Spot elevations will be shown on
intersection layouts with cross slope to fit intersecting grade lines. Topographic survey at
intersection will include no more than 100 ft. in each direction.
