FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES

COUNTY OF TARRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth and Komatsu Architecture, Inc. (Architect) made and entered
into City Secretary Contract No. 26721 ("Contract') which was authorized by the City Council
by M&C C-18453 the 13th day of February 2001; and
WHEREAS, additional services are required to plan storm drainage improvements from the
Rosedale PASS Project.
NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, action herein by and through their duly authorized
representatives, enter into the following agreement that amends the Contract:
1.
Article 1.1, Section I - SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a third paragraph is added to read as
follows:
"Planning of storm water improvements to accommodate the drainage from
Rosedale Avenue onto the site, as detailed in a letter from Garcia & Associates
Engineering, Inc. dated May 1, 2001, which is attached hereto. Design of storm
drainage through the site and off the property is not included. The cost of this
additional design service is $4,962."

Paragraph 1 of Section V, Compensation to Architect, is amended to read as follows:
41. The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by
Architect as described in CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S
SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of $201,290 plus up to $6,500 in special
services and expenses."

All other provisions of this Contract that are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full
force and effect.

Supplemental Services-Hydrology/Hydraulics Study and Report

Based on our discussions, and direction from you, Garcia & Associates Engineering, Inc. (G&A)
proposes to provide to Komatsu Architecture, Inc. (KAI) the following supplemental services for the
referenced Project:
I. Scope Summary-A summary of our proposed services for this Project is:
A. Hydrology-
1. Research and collect information from The City of Fort Wor�h and TxDOT's
W. Rosedale Street consultant relative to offsite drain through the
referenced site.
2. Verify TxDOT consultant's hydrologic calculations for use in establishing
surface runoff values to be used in evaluating alternatives for conveying the
runoff through the site for 5, 10 and 100-year frequency storm events.
B. Hydraulics-
1. Establish two viable options for conveying stormwater through the
developed site. Consideration shall be given to the construction cost of the
solution as well as impacts to the site's utilization and to offsite public and
private improvements downstream at 12th Avenue/Beckham intersection and
along Beckham Street to the Fort Worth &Western Railroad Right-of-Way.
2. Establish critical locations to take typical cross-sections of drainageway
through the site and down Beckham Avenue.
3. Utilizing typical cross-sections, perform hydraulic calculations to determine
depths along drainageway for each option at each design storm frequency.
4. Develop worksheet to show hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
C. Drainage Study Report-

11. Services and Information Provided By Others
A. It is assumed that the following work items will be developed by others and that
pertinent information, if any, from each be provided to G&A in a timely manner to
assist in the progress of our work:
1. Storm Drainage Plans and Calculations for TxDOT W. Rosedale Street
Project.
2. Current topography and proposed Plan & Profile Drawings for TxDOT W.
Rosedale Street Project.
111. Deliverables- It is assumed that G&A will provide to KAI:
A. One (1) hardcopy of results of hydrologic/hydraulic analysis as described In Section
I. We assume that the client will make any additional required copies he needs.
1V. Reimbursables - Direct costs associated with this proposal will include plotting,
reproduction, mileage, telecommunication, postage, courier/delivery, and other fees and
costs required to perform these services.
V. Schedule-G&A will start the described work immediately upon receiving a written notice-to-
proceed. It is anticipated that we could complete the described work in 2 weeks, not
! including agency and client review periods. G&A is not responsible for schedule
delays/extensions caused by associated agencies providing incomplete or inconsistent
information, extended agency or City review times, Design changes and/or other conditions
and activities that are beyond our control.
Vl. Compensation - Compensation for the work described herein shall be on a hourly-not-to-
exceed basis as estimated on the enclosed worksheets.
V//. Additional Services—As a minimum, the following shall be considered additional services
and will be charged separately on an hourly basis, plus any associated direct expenses.:
A. Any services requested or required of G&A resulting from changes in the described
scope by either the client or the project owner.
B. Requested or required attendance at more than two (2) meetings for this
supplemental work.
V111. Excluded Services- Services which G&A can provide, but which are not included in this
supplemental scope of services are:
A. Environmental Studies/Assessments B. Construction Management
C. MEP Design D. Floodplain Reclamation Studies
E. Major Drainage Improvement Design F. Construction Staking
G. Formal Drainage Study Report

Garcia & Associates Engineering, Inc. proposes to provide these supplemental services for the
referenced Project, as previously described, for a lump sum fee of$ 4,962.00, which includes direct
expenses estimated at $ 128.00. The total fee is attributable to the sitework. At the client's request
G&A can provide Additional and Excluded Services upon agreement to supplemental fee.
Upon agreement to this supplemental fee, please provide us with a formal Agreement for our
execution and Notice-to-Proceed and we will begin work immediately.
