With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City
Council Work Session to order at 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in City Council
Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
1. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manager
a. Changes to the City Council Agenda
M&C G-19224 Council District should be 9.
M&C G-12913 will be withdrawn and a revised M&C 12913 will be considered by Council.
b. Upcoming and Recent Events
Theresa Ewing, Municipal Courts Director and Chief Judge Danny Rodgers provided an update
on the Warrant Forgiveness events.
c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s)
Brandon Bennett, Code Compliance Director showed a video of the Hillside Neighborhood
cleanup by the Code Enforcement Association of Texas (CEAT). CEAT was holding their
annual conference here in Fort Worth.

No questions on current agenda items.
3. Responses to Items Continued from a Previous Week
a. M&C G-19213 - (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS) - Adopt Resolution Revising
the Policy for Operating Public Improvement Districts (Continued from
February 6, 2018 by Staff) This M&C will be withdrawn and Council will
consider a revised M&C.
4. Bri_e_fing on Cybersecurity - Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions
Mr. Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions Department, provided a briefing on cybersecurity efforts by the
ITS department and cybersecurity plans for the future.
5. Briefing on Open Data and Community Dashboards - Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions
and Lynda Johnson, Performance and Budget Office
Mr. Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions Department, and Ms. Lynda Johnson, Performance and Budget
Office, provided an update on current Open Data activities and previewed the Community
Dashboards that will allow individuals to drill down into more detailed information on key
metrics.
6. Briefing on Smart Cities Initiatives - Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions Department
Mr. Kevin Gunn, IT Solutions Department, provided an update on the City of Fort Worth's
Smart City Initiatives. He also provided next steps: 1) Develop a planning document, 2) talk
about the City's approach to smart cities and 3) Actively seek partnering opportunities.
7. Briefing on Expansion of Smoking Ordinance - Brandon Bennett, Code
Compliance Department
This briefing was postponed to a future meeting.
8. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
Council Member Jordan requested a briefing on Regional Transportation projects.

There being no further business, Mayor Price adjourned the City Council Work Session at
4:09 p.m.
