HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1990A ,fD ~~ +r A RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO ~~ ~/ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO AMERICAN WATER WORKS RESEARCH FOUNDATION THE ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE, AND THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD FOR A RESEARCH STUDY FOR WATER TREATABILITY OPTIONS AND EVALUATION OF RESIDUALS MANAGEMENT ISSUES WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, (City), provides water treatment of source waters to produce it's customers potable water WHEREAS, the source waters of the City and many other water utilities contain arsenic and other removable contaminants which can be reduced or removed with proper treatment WHEREAS, a Request For Proposal has been established to research enhanced methods of arsenic removal utilizing a pilot plant WHEREAS, a research effort to improve water treatment processes would be beneficial to the City as well many other water utilities WHEREAS, an application to the American Water Works Association ~. Research Foundation has now been prepared, C NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; 1 That the City take the necessary action to request financial assistance from the American Water Works Association Research Foundation, the Electric Power Research Institute, and the Texas Water Development Board 2 That Mr Bob Terrell, City Manager of Fort Worth, Texas, be designated as the authorized representative for representing the City and making appearance before the American Water Works Association Research Foundation, the Electric Power Research Institute, and the Texas Water Development Board 3 That Mr Richard Sawey, Water Director of Fort Worth, Texas, be designated as the authorized alternate representative for representing the City and making appearance before the American Water Works Association Research Foundation, the Electric Power Research Institute and the Texas Water Development Board 4 That an application be submitted to the American Water Works Association Research Foundation the Electric Power Research Institute, and the Texas Water Development Board for a research study on Arsenic Treatability Options and Evaluation of Residuals Management Issues DAY O --, 19 9 4 ~~PR~~~ PASSED THIS / ~ ~ c~`~''V /°o~~ t~ JUN ~~ 1994 ~ ~~.o City Secretary of thm City of Fart Worth, Texas
