Mark McClendon recommendations, cost estimates, and a full summary of the analysis
Lili Meisamy,D.O. and public input that served as the basis for the plan.As you're aware,
Melissa Mitchell our planning study not only addressed the future of the expanded park,

Re.: Additional services to complete the Fire Station Park expansion concept plan and final report
Dear Mike and Megan,
This letter proposes an amendment to the agreement based on our conversation with you and Fort Worth
Parks and Recreation during our visit on December 6th and 7`h, 2017.
In 2016 NSI and Fort Worth P&R engaged PPS to develop a program and a concept plan for the newly
designated parkland at 1616 Hemphill Street. Below is a list of additional services performed by PPS
outside the original scope of work:
DESCRIPTION OF ADDITIONAL SERVICES PERFORMED BY PPS DURING THE
SUMMER/FALL 2017
• During the Spring and Summer 2017, in response to the City's analysis of community center
expansion needs,a new programmatic requirement was added to PPS tasks: a 10,000 SF building
expansion to the existing Fire Station Community Center. This new element needed to be included
in the long term Park plan and renderings for city approvals and community outreach and to
properly plan for activities and design.
• In July 2017,as requested by NSI,PPS performed design work to analyze alternate locations for the
building addition to the Community Center. From several alternatives studied in comparative
diagrams,PPS and NSI identified a recommended location along Lipscomb Street, and PPS
prepared draft park concept plan, park program, and two renderings for review.
• After further consultation with community center operations staff,Fort Worth P&R asked PPS to
investigate an additional alternate building location on Hemphill Street. P&R ultimately selected the
alternative with a contiguous expansion east of the historic fire station building as the preferred
location for the future building.
• With the new expansion location approved by all parties,PPS worked with NSI and Fort Worth
P&R to study parking demands, zoning requirements, and various potential parking locations and
scenarios, developing several additional diagrams for this analysis.
These additional tasks performed by PPS also included several conference calls and communications
with Clients, in addition to the necessary drawings to convey the concepts.
DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OF WORK TO COMPLETE TASK 3.
PPS original contract fee was spent to complete the above described work, including our last trip on 12/6
and 12/7. We are requesting additional services,in order to complete our tasks 3.2 and 3.3.
Listed below is our proposed Scope of work:
PPS will prepare a summary booklettreport. The purpose of this booklet will be for continued community
outreach, proposal to potential fundraising partners, and City uses(the booklet will be in sections that
could be added or removed according to who the audience is)
Contents:
1-Summary of last year's workshop/survey and the results of the Open House(12/6)to be typed and
organized as an appendix
2-Final illustrative plan(removing service road parking and transform that into a path, modifying building
to be 1 story 8,000 SF no atrium, showing uses on the east side toward the lawn area and two renderings.
(add a view from Maddox street looking into the park, and remove the 3D of the lawn)The plan will be
rendered and labeled to be used for future planning board presentations.
3-Phasing plan strategies:
Phase 1:grading and pathway, vacate easement, trees in key places
Phase 2: Skate park, bike and entry plaza with shade, flex lawn, parking along Maddox(remove existing
parking to be on street parking on Maddox)+itemized estimate
Phase 3: Building addition and additional parking as required, playground relocation/change flex plaza
and multi purpose court and shade structures +itemized estimate
4-Estimated probable costs associated to each area and phase (with Parks and Recreation support)
5-Management strategy: recommendation for partnership and different roles that partners could
play
The development of this booklet will include conference calls and feedback from NSI and P&R
on an ongoing basis.
