RESOLUTION NO. I ~ ~'
REQUESTING THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION TO GRANT THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH NEUTRAL PARTY STATUS IN A PRO-
CEEDING INVOLVING THE APPLICATION OF LAIDLAW WASTE
SYSTEMS (.FORT WORTH), INC., FOR A MUNICIPAL SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY (PROPOSED PERMIT NUMBER
MSW 2145) •
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is concerned with pro-
. tecting the quality of life of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Laidlaw Waste Systems (Fort Worth) Inc., has applied to
the Texas Water Commission for proposed permit number
MSW 2145 for a municipal solid waste management facility
to be located in Fort Worth, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has a justiciable interest in
these proceedings due to the possible impact of a new
municipal solid waste management facility on the City's
air, soil and water quality; and
WHEREAS, the proposed municipal solid waste facility should be
carefully monitored by the City of Fort Worth through
its active participation in the hearings process as a
neutral party; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth desires that
the City Manager or his designee represent the City's
interests in such hearings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:

That a~request is hereby made to the Texas Water Commission
that the City of Fort Worth be named as a neutral party in the
proceedings involving proposed permit number MSW 2145.
II.
1•That•The City Manager or his designee is hereby named as the
City's representative to all hearings and other matters regarding
proposed permit number MSW 2145.
