RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CONTRACT STREET
MAINTENANCE FUNDS FOR A PORTION OF THE LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS
FOR THE GRANT -ADMINISTERED BY THE U. S:' ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADMINISTRATION TO FUND A SET OF INTERRELATED AND INTEGRATED
PROJECTS WHICH ARE COLLECTIVELY CALLED THE STOCKYARDS INFRA-
STRUCTURE REVITALIZATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, actions by ttie U. S. Congress in 1985 committed $4.5 million (later reduced
to $4.3 million) "for the continued development of facilities and related infrastructure activities of the Fort
Worth Stockyards Project" (P.L. 99-450) and subsequent actions by Congress in 1986 committed an
additional $7.5 million to the Stockyards projects (P.L. 99-500), which funds are to be administered by the
U. S. Economic Development Administration, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is now requesting funding from the committed $4.3
million for a set of interrelated and integrated projects which will collectively be called the Stockyards
Infrastructure Revitalization Project, and
WHEREAS, the committed $4.3 million is subject to a match from City funds, $1,252,333
of which is available from the proceeds from the sale of General Obligation Bonds which were approved
by the voters in 1986 for improvements to sections of North Main Street and North Houston Street which
are included in the Stockyards Infrastructure Revitalization Project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
~ That funding totaling $59,867 for the City's matching funds will be allocated from the
~ Contract Maintenance Fund for the asphalt overlay of Ellis and 23rd Streets, which are included in the
~~ Stockyards Infrastructure Revitalization Project.
