Re: Amendment#1
CSN 50105—2014 STREET LIGHTING PROGRAM YEAR 4—Overton Park Drive E & North Beach Street
Dear Clint:
Lee Engineering, LLC("LEE"or"Consultant")is pleased to submit this Amendment#1 to the City of Fort Worth
(City) to provide additional services to design additional street lighting improvements along North Beach
Street.
Project Understanding
The length of the North Beach Street project is being increased from its former northern terminus at the first
set of railroad tracks 0.4 miles north of Long Avenue/Broadway Avenue to a new northern terminus at the
second set of railroad tracks 0.75 miles to the north of Long Avenue/Broadway Avenue. This change is based
on input from area businesses and as directed by Councilmember Moon.
The project limits and scope of services for the Overton Park Drive E portion of the project remain unchanged.
Scope of Services
The following Scope of Services has been developed based on our discussions with the City.
LEE will provide the services specifically set forth below.
Task 1—Project Management
Lee will provide additional quality assurance/quality control for design plans related to the expanded project
area, as outlined in the original contract.

Task 2—Conceptual Design (30%)
At the discretion of the City and to advance the project schedule without undue delays, a formal 30%design
submission will not be made, nor will any further photometric analysis of the new northern segment of Beach
Street be conducted. Rather, the same general design used in the 30%submission for North Beach Street to
date (namely, Type 18 street light poles with twin arms and 138W LED fixtures spaced approximately every
200 feet in the median)will be carried north into the new, northern section.
LEE will make a "walk through" field visit in conjunction with TPW staff to identify preliminary pole locations
and any other features of concern so they can be incorporated into the public meeting presentation materials
and the 90%design submission.
LEE will update the public mailing list for North Beach Street and coordinate with the City's communications
specialist to ensure that property owners adjacent to the extended project limits are invited to the meetings.
Task 3—Draft Final Design (90%)
LEE will design the proposed lighting system and produce plan sheets for all items included in the contract
scope of work for the expanded project area on North Beach Street, including overview sheets, existing
conditions sheets, lighting layouts, conduit and cable charts, streetlight summary, quantities, voltage drop
calculations, specifications, and an updated opinion of probable construction cost.
Task 4—Final Construction Documents (100%)
LEE will respond to City comments and produce final 100% plans, specifications, and opinion of probable
construction cost for the expanded project area.
Task 5—Construction Phase Services
LEE will prepare additional public meeting exhibits for the expanded project area, as well as handle any
additional shop drawing submittals, change orders, interpretations, etc. associated with the expanded area.
Task 6—Survey/Subsurface Utility
New Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)to Quality Level D will be provided for the extended project area in
a format consistent with the services outlined in the original contract for North Beach Street.
Additional Services
Any services not specifically provided for in the above scope will be billed as additional services and
performed at our then current hourly rates.
Schedule
We will provide our services in a mutually agreed upon schedule following Notice to Proceed from the City.
Additional services, if desired, will be performed in a timely manner upon authorization by the City.
LriE rinanicmicvnc Page 2 of 3
Fee and Expenses
LEE will perform the services in Tasks 1-6 for a not-to-exceed fee of$22,190.25. All permitting, application,
and similar project fees will be paid directly by the Client.
LEE will not exceed the total maximum labor fee shown without authorization from the Client.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide these services to you. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
LEE ENGINEERING, LLC
