CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
APRIL 3, 2018

With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City
Council Work Session to order at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in City Council
Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
1. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manager
a. Changes to the City Council Agenda
There were no changes to the City Council Agenda.
b. Upcoming and Recent Events
Ribbon Cutting at the Sixth Patrol Division was held at 10:00 a.m.
Mayor Price met with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan at Catholic Charities.
City Manager Cooke noted that the Police Department would be sharing information on the
arrest that occurred on Saturday, March 31, 2018, later today, providing greater context of the
incident that occurred.

There were no organizational updates or employee recognitions.

4. Overview of Significant Zoning Cases — Dana Burghdoff, Planning and
Development Department
Ms. Dana Burghdoff, Planning and Development Department, reviewed the significant zooming
cases.
5. Presentation on Selection of Nimes, France as an Official Fort Worth Sister City -
Mae Ferguson, Fort Worth Sister Cities
Mr. Johnny Campbell, Fort Worth Sister Cities Chairman of the Board, presented information on
Nimes, France, a potential new Sister City for Fort Worth.
6. Presentation on Pioneer Tower Renovation and Public Art - Kirk Slaughter, Public
Events Department and Martha Peters, Fort Worth Public Art
Mr. Kirk Slaughter, Public Events Department, and Ms. Martha Peters, Fort Worth Public Art,
presented information on the Renovation of Pioneer Tower and the potential for a Public Art
installation using projection mapping to create an iconic art piece on the tower.

including communications

There being no further business, Mayor Price adjourned the City Council Work Session at
4:55 p.m.
