DECLARING SPECIFIC HOME REPAIRS
AS EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, Texas, desires to provide emer-
gency repair assistance to qualified homeowners of
existing structures under the Rehabilitation Assistance
Program using Community Development Block Grant Funds
obtained from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Environmental Regulations limit the use of CDBG funds
for emergencies to situations that pose an imminent
threat to public health and safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
That emergencies for existing structures shall be defined as:
1. Water leaks that are flooding the structure and creating an
imminent threat to public health and safety and the sur-
rounding neighborhood;
2. Sewer leaks that are flooding the structure and creating an
imminent threat to public health and safety and the sur-
rounding neighborhood;
Gas leaks that are an imminent danger to the structure and
create an imminent threat to public health and safety and the
surrounding neighborhood;
Electrical malfunctions that are an imminent danger to the
structure and create an imminent threat to public health and
safety and the surrounding neighborhood. Electrical repairs
will meet City Codes;
Situations created by accidents or natural disasters that are
an imminent danger to the structure and are creating an
imminent threat to public health and safety and the sur-
rounding neighborhood;
Emergency temporary repairs or temporary actions shall be
limited to the amount of $2,500 and shall be limited to actions
necessary to control the immediate impacts of the emergency as set
forth in Section 1506.11 Emergencies, of Council on Environmental ,
Quality Regulations, dated November 29, 1978. RP~Q~ED ''
