I. Call to Order
With a quorum of the board members present, President Price called the meeting of the Crime
Control and Prevention District Board (CCPD) of Directors to order at 5:58 p.m., on Tuesday,
August 29, 2017, 2017, in the City Council Conference Room 290, Fort Worth City Hall,
200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
II. Administer Oath of Office to Directors
City Secretary Mary J. Kayser, administered the oath of office to the Directors.
III. Election of Officers
Motion was made by Director Shingleton and second by Director Byrd nominating Betsy Price as
President of the CCPD Board of Directors. Motion passed 7-0, Directors Moon and Bivens absent.
Motion was made by Director Allen Gray and second by Director Byrd nominating Director
Shingleton as Vice President. Motion passed 7-0, Directors Moon and Bivens absent.
IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes from February 16,2017,Regular Meeting
Motion was made by Director Jordan and seconded by Director Zadeh to approve the minutes of
the February 16, 2017, regular meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District Board of
Directors. The motion passed 7-0. Directors Moon and Bivens abent.

a. FY 2017 3rd Quarter Performance Report on Activities and Finances
VI. Action Items
A. Consideration of the FY2018 Community Based Program Funding (PUBLIC
HEARING)
a. Staff Report
Sasha Kane provided the staff report on the FY 2018 Community Based Program
funding. The staff recommendation is:
Girls Inc. Prevention and Leadership Program $38,000.00
Stop the Cycle of Violence in Fort Worth Program $78,221.00
Supporting Foster Youth through Permanency &
Collaborative Family $40,000.00
SafeKids $43,750.00
Second Opportunity for Success $49,976.00
TOTAL $250,000.00
The Mayor opened the Public Hearing.
b. Citizen Comments
There were no citizen comments
C. Action
Motion was made by Director Shingleton and second by Director Byrd to close the
public hearing and to approve the FY 2018 Community Based Program Funding in
the amount of$250,000.00 as presented by staff. Motion passed 7-0,Directors Moon
and Bivens absent.
B. Consideration of the FY2018 Recommended CCPD Budget in the Amount of
$79,610,920 (PUBLIC HEARING)
a. Staff Report
Terry Hansen, Assistant Director, Performance and Budget, presented the FY 2017
CCPD budget.
Enhanced Enforcement $21,879,367.00
Neighborhood Crime Prevention $15,742,408.00
Partners with a Shared Mission $ 4,692,662.00

The Mayor opened the Public Hearing.
b. Citizen Comments
There were no Citizen Comments.
C. Action
Motion was made by Director Jordan and second by Director Shingleton to close the
public hearing. Motion passed 7-0, Directors Moon and Bivens absent.
Motion was made by Director Jordan and second by Director Shingleton to continue
the adoption of the budget to September 17, 2017. Motion passed, Directors Moon
and Bivens absent.
VII. Citizen Comments
There were none.
VIII. Board Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
Presentation on the overall police staffing year by year for five years.
IX. Adjourn
With no further presentations or discussions, President Price adjourned the meeting of the Fort
Worth Crime Control and Prevention Board of Directors at 6:26 p.m., on Tuesday,
August 29, 2017.
