Additionally, each division employs a compliment of Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs) and a Special Response Team (SRT). Central, East and West Divisions have Bike Units, and West Division has a special detail of officers assigned to the West 7th Core entertainment district and the Las Vegas Trail apartment facilities (TRAC Teams). The below table displays the number of police officers assigned to each patrol division and the average response times for calls in those divisions between January 1St and April 30th 2018. In 2018, the City of Fort Worth contracted Matrix Consulting Group to evaluate the efficiency and staffing needs of the FWPD. Matrix is conducting an in-depth evaluation of each unit within the Police Department to determine if possibilities exist to maximize the efficient use of agency resources and to assess whether additional personnel are required to promote further organizational efficiencies. They will provide the results of the study in early summer, to enable the Department to address any identified personnel shortages in the FY 19 budget process.
