HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1873y ..,,,) A Resolution p~SQLU.TIQN NO.~~ • • • AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR SALE OF A 21.594 ACRE TRACT OF LAND NEAR DALLAS- FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. WHEREAS, the City of Dallas and City of Fort Worth are owners of a tract of land containing approximately 21.594 acres, more particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, located near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport ("D-FW Airport") within the city limits of Irving, Texas, which tract is no longer needed for municipal use; and WHEREAS, the land was acquired through eminent domain, in connection with D-FW Airport acquisition, on February 23, 1972; and WHEREAS, this tract of land is outside the boundaries of the area required for D-FW Airport, but it was .necessary to acquire this tract due to the fact that the taking of the lands required would have left this tract landlocked; and WHEREAS, by Resolution Number 92-09-192, on September 3, 1992, the D-FW Airport Board recommended the property be declared surplus; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the tract of real property owned by the City of Dallas and the City of Fort Worth, containing approximately 21.594 acres located near D-FW Airport within the city limits of ..~_,.. . Irving,~Texes,~is declared unneeded by the City Council and should be adver`ti'sed for'asale by sealed bids at the indicated minimum price of $1;470,`000.00. SECTION 2j:~~~ That said property shall be conveyed subject to the reservation of an avigation easement for free and unobstructed passage, of,~all`-'arcraft with an elevation to be determined by D-FW Airport3.Board",oEngineering Division. ,- SECTION 3. That the advertisement of this property shall state that: , a) the City of Dallas and the City of Fort Worth each reserves the right to reject any and all bids received; a.aai Vr r-Vacl" WVK1"ri f -_ P l'r £~~ ~'t 4~tt ~ ~a: _ b) this property shall be subject to the reservation of an avigation easement and all easements and other instruments of record; c} the conveyance shall be by special warranty, deed; and d) this property will be sold in "as is" condition, and it' is the bidder's responsibility to determine that the property can be utilized for its intended purposes and to determine access to the property. SECTION 4. That the Property Management Director is authorized to advertise said property for sale by sealed bids. SECTION 5.
