"Zim" Zimmerman, Vice President Director Salvador Espino Director Danny Scarth Director Gyna Bivens Director Jungus Jordan Director Dennis Shingleton Director Kelly Allen Gray Director Joel Burns City Staff: Jeff Halstead, Police Chief Charlene Sanders, Assistant City Attorney Ronald P. Gonzales, Assistant Secretary to the Board Charles Daniels, Assistant City Manager The agenda posted for this meeting stated that the meeting was to be held in the Council Chamber. Assistant City Manager Susan Alanis left the Pre Council Chamber and made an announcement in the Council Chamber that meeting would be held in the Pre Council Chanmber. I.Call to Order With a quorum of the board members present, President Price called the Special Called meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District Board (CCPD) of Directors to order at 9:55 a.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. II.Action Items A.Certification of Official Returns - Ron Gonzales,Assistant CCPD Board Secretary Assistant CCPD Board Secretary Gonzales advised the Board that before them was the certifications of the tabulations of the official election returns from Tarrant and Denton Counties for the Special Election held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, for continuation of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention District for five years and the continuation of the District's one- half cent sales tax for five years. He stated that the certified cumulative returns for such election reported were as follows: For: 12,134 Against: 2,219 CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MAY 20,2014 Page 2 of 2 He further stated that the proposition received a favorable majority vote and was passed. He advised that a motion was necessary to acknowledge the receipt of the certification of official election returns. Motion was made by Director Shingleton and second by Director Jordan, that receipt of the certification of the official returns of the Special Election held on May 10, 2014, on the continuation of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention District for five years and continuation of the District's one-half cent sales tax for five years, be acknowledged. Motion passed unanimously 9 ayes to 0 nays. B.Consideration and Adoption of Resolution Canvassing Votes and Making Findings Concerning the Results of the Election Held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, on the Continuation of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention District for Five Years and Continuation of the District's One-Half Cent Sales Tax for Five Years - Ron Gonzales, Assistant CCPD Board Secretary Motion was made by Director Zimmerman and second by Director Shingleton to approve a Resolution canvassing votes and making findings concerning the results of the election held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, on the continuation of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention District for five years and continuation of the District's one-half cent sales tax for five years. Motion passed unanimously 9 ayes to 0 nays. III.Adjourn With no further presentations or discussions, President Price adjourned the Special Called meeting of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention Board of Directors at 9:50 a.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
