HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1744A Resolution ~s°tu?:°}~ ~~-~~~~ •- WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has made significant progress in the employment of minorities and women since the passage of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth for over twenty-five years has undertaken affirmative action efforts to assure representation of minorities and women throughout the City government work force; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth City Manager has directed all City department heads to develop Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plans for their respective departments; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth believes its work force should reflect the diversity of its citizenry; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth as an employer recognizes the .continued importance of broadening the ethnic and gender makeup of its work force in order to meet its present and future labor needs; NOW., THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: That the City Council of the City of Fort Worth does hereby reaffirm its commitment to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action and directs the City Manager to continue those activities that assure the municipal government will be an equal opportunity employer; and in keeping with this policy, the City will continue to recruit hire, train, and promote into all job levels without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability..
