CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION

With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City
Council Work Session to order at 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in City Council
Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
1. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manaller
a. Changes to the City Council Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
b. Upcoming and Recent Events
There will not be a Council meeting on May 22, 2018, and May 29, 2018.
City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 28, 2018, for Memorial Day.
Race and Culture Leadership Training for Fort Worth City Council, Appointed Officials, and
Assistant City Managers will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018n and Tuesday, June 14, 2018.
c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s)
Assistant City Manager Jay Chapa recognized the employees involved with the successful Bond
Referendum.

a. SP-18-004 - (COUNCIL DISTRICT 7 — Dennis Shingleton) - Jeffery Treadwell
et al., 1812 - 1814 Montgomery Street; From: PD 1077 PD/E Planned
Development for all uses in " E" Neighborhood Commercial plus bar in a
separate building only as accessory to a restaurant; site plan approved To:
Amend PD 1077 site plan for patio cover 0.43 acres (Recommended for
Approval by the Zoning Commission) (Continued from May 8, 2018, by Mayor
Pro-Tem Shingleton) This item will move forward.
4. Presentation on 2018 State of the Vaqueros - Michael Hitchcock, Fort Worth
Vaqueros
Mr. Michael Hitchcock, Fort Worth Vaqueros, gave a presentation on the activities of the
Vaqueros during the off season; updates on the new season, and an update on Vaqueros Field at
Sycamore Park opening May 2018.
5. Briefing on Annual MedStar Update - Doug Hooten, MedStar
Mr. Doug Hooten MedStar, gave a briefing on MedStar. His report included the following:

6. Briefing on Campaign to Support the Homeless and Discourage Panhandling -
Michelle Gutt, Communications and Public Engagement Department and Tara
Perez, City Manager's Office
Ms. Michelle Gutt, Communications and Public Engagement Department, and Ms. Tara Perez,
City Manager's Office, gave a briefing on a panhandling education program that will educate
people who want to give money to help the homeless about donating to a fund that will help
those in need in the community. The Direct Client Services Fund will be administered by the
Tarrant County Homeless Coalition through Direction Home. There will be a Community
Conference on Homelessness on June 30, 2018, at University Christian Church.
7. Presentation on Access Management and Collector Network Planning - Katherine
Beck, Planning and Development
Ms. Katherine Beck, Planning and Development Department, gave a presentation on Access
Management and proposed policies that will improve safety and operation of the street network.
There will be a proposed Subdivision Ordinance Amendments related to Configuration and
Connectivity and Spacing. Council will have an item on their June 5, 2018, agenda for
consideration and the proposed effective date will be August 1, 2018.
8. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
There were no requests for future agenda items.
9. Executive Session (CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL,
ROOM 290)
There being no further business, Mayor Price adjourned the City Council Work Session at
4:12 p.m.
