Councilman Garrison Councilwoman Granger VCYPE on the motion was as follows: Councilman Mc Cray Mayor~Bolen- Councilman=Meadows Mayor Pro tempore Gilley Councilwoman.Webber Councilman Zapata Councilman Chappell WHERE[1PON the motion was declared approved THE STATE OF TEAS ) CWNI'Y OF TARRANT ) r I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and corr~c-t Dopy of the order passed by the _ Fort Worth Ci .~_ 19 90 . ~~~~ R 1 ~ ~~~~n ~~ _~~~.; November 27 , City Secretary or County Clerk /~ _: Fly ~ STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TARRANT County MINUTE ORDER Page 1 of 4 Pages District No. FORT WORTH (21 WHEREAS, the State Highway and Public Transportation Commission (the "Commission") adopted a Resolution dated December 22, 1987 whereby they applauded and commended Houston Metro for taking a bold step to assist the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation (the "Department") by dedicating 25 percent of their revenues from sales tax collections to enhance the overall mobility of the area by improving urban thoroughfares in Houston; and WHEREAS, the Commission also resolved to expand the Principal Arterial Street System Program to provide additional financing as an incentive to encourage metropolitan transit authorities to provide matching funds; and WHEREAS, the Commission further resolved that metropolitan transit authorities throughout the State be encouraged to take similar steps to assist urban residents in enhancing overall mobility and to strengthen their partnership role with the state, county, and city entities to solve the-pressing problems of urban mobility; and WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority have contacted the Department regarding these matching funds and are requesting the following project; and WHEREAS, in TARRANT COUNTY in the City of Fort Worth on VICKERY BOULEVARD from State Highway Loop 496 east to U.S. Highway 287, a distance of approximately 1.7 miles, the City of Fort North and the Fort Worth Transportation 'Authority have requested a pro.{ect to widen the existing four-lane undivided facility to a four-lane divided arterial with a continuous left turn lane; r STATE DEPARTMENT OF fIIGIINAYS AND PUDLIC TRANSPORTATION TARRANT County MINUTE ORDER Page 2 of 4 Pages District No. FORT WORTH (2) • NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Engineer-Director is hereby directed to tender the following proposal to the City of Fort Worth and the fort Worth Transportation Authority: Provided the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority will: 1. Provide fifty percent of the cost of right of way clear of obstructions with acquisition procedures to be in accordance with policies of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and with applicable Federal and State laws governing the acquisition policies for acquiring real property. 2. Provide fifty percent of the cost of eligible utility adjustments as may be required in accordance with policies of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. 3. Provide fifty percent of the cost of relocation assistance for this project. • 4. Provide fifty percent of the cost for the construction of the project. 5. Upon completion of the construction of this project. maintain that portion of the work which is its responsibility in accordance with Federal and State requirements, and agree to regulate traffic and prevent encroachment on the right of way, all in accordance with governing policies and regulations of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation as outl-fined in an executed Municipal Maintenance Agreement. . ~, i>~ STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TARRANT County MINUTE ORDER Page 3 of 4 Pages District No. FORT WORTH (2) The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation will: 1. Maintain that portion of the work which is its responsibility in accordance with maintenance agreements. Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the above referenced limits be and are hereby designated a part of the State Highway System as a PRINCIPAL ARTERIAL STREET; and "r w:~. STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS .AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TARRANT County MINUTE ORDER Page 4 of 4 Pages District No. FORT WORTH (2} IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Engineer-Director is hereby authorized to proceed in the most feasible and economical manner with project development to include any necessary agreements, right of way acquisition, utility adjustments, relocation assistance and construction at an estimated cost to the State of 32,604,000, which will be funded from the 1988-92 Urban System/Principal Arterial Street System Program (Major Urbanized Areas). This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority; and if not accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein contained shall be automatically canceled.
