HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1419~ Res®Itziio~ raruosi xa.~ RELATING TO COORDINATION OF THE CITY'S POSITION ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WHEREAS, it has been predicted that the 1990's will be a time when all levels of government will be required to focus more time, effort and dollars on addressing environmental issues; and WHEREAS, there currently are numerous proposals at both the federal and state level to amend and adopt new legislation on environmental issues; and WHEREAS, each proposal may have a significant impact on the ability of the City to improve the environment while providing for meaningful economic development; and WHEREAS, each proposal will require interdepartmental coordination as well as direction from Council; and WHEREAS, it is imperative that the City of Fort Worth be consistent in addressing environmental issues: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: That the City Manager or his duly appointed representative is hereby designated as the authority to coordinate the City's legislative and administrative positions relating to environmental issues and to represent the City at meetings pertaining to these issues.
