Kayser, City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City Council Work Session to order at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in City Council Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manager a. Changes to the City Council Agenda M&C P-12214 will be withdrawn from the consent agenda. b. Upcoming and Recent Events Retirement reception for Chief Pat Vasquez,Friday, June 29, 2018. Community Conference on homelessness, June 30, 2018. Opening of the synthetic soccer fields at Sycamore Park June 30, 2018. Topping out ceremony for the Dickies Arena was Monday June 25, 2018. Council summer break—next meeting will be on August 7, 2018. c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) Council Member Allen Gray recognized Code Compliance Officers that volunteered to assist an elderly citizen with clean-up at their property. Overview of Significant Zoning Cases — Dana Burghdoff, Planning and Development Department 5. Update on Funding for Safe Haven - Fernando Costa, City Manager's Office and Ken Shetter, One Safe Place Assistant City Manager Fernando Costa, City Manager' Office, and Mr. Ken Shetter, One Safe Place, provided an update on funding for Safe Haven. The Emergency Shelter Grant budget will be revised to include Safe Haven ($75,000). The revisions will include funding from unprogrammed CDBG and UDAG funds. Update on Ash Crescent Neighborhood Improvements - Aubrey Thagard, Neighborhood Services Department Mr. Aubrey Thagard,Neighborhood Services Department, provided an update on the activities in the Ash Crescent area. These include improving public safety, street lights, sidewalks, street repairs, tree trimming and removal, trash and debris removal, substandard structures identified for demolition or repair, installation of surveillance cameras, self-service book vending machine, various housing programs and summer play and learn. 7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Council Member Allen Gray—Permanent Supportive Housing as part of the Consolidated Plan. Council Member Allen Gray and Bivens—Diversity of outside counsel. Council Member Moon—Update on North Division Bike Patrol unit funding. Council Member Flores—Outsourcing in Engineering—trend over the last 3 years. 8.
