FIRST ADDENDUM TO MEMORANDUM OF

ANIMAL CARE FOUNDATION, INC. AND
NORTH TEXAS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
This Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered into
by and between the North Texas Community Foundation ("Community
Foundation"), a Texas non-profit corporation, acting by and through its duly authorized
representative, the Chuck Silcox Fort Worth Animal Care Foundation, Inc. ("Silcox
Foundation"), a Texas non-profit corporation, acting by and through its duly authorized
representative, and the City of Fort Worth ("City"), a Texas home-rule municipal
corporation, acting by and through its duly authorized Assistant City Manager. City,
Silcox Foundation and Community Foundation may be referred to herein individually
as a "Party" or collectively as the "Parties." '
WHEREAS, the purpose of the MOU is to document the funding, intended use
and understanding related to donations made by Community Foundation to Silcox
Foundation for the benefit of animals from the City's Animal Care and Control Center;
and
WHEREAS, the Parties wish to expand the Dog Defender Program in order to
provide veterinary treatment for selected animals (canine, feline and other) with special
veterinary needs, senior animals for whom veterinary attention is currently needed or
anticipated (very broadly interpreted), or to provide selected animals with hospice care;
and
WHEREAS, the Community Foundation, at the recommendation of Jean
Walker, wishes to fund a $20,000 pilot program in order to care for and treat selected
animals requiring veterinary services or hospice care.
THEREFORE, the Parties agree that the following is incorporated into the MOU '
as though it were included at the time the Parties signed the MOU:

Additional Pilot Program Funding
Community Foundation, at the recommendation of Jean Walker, will provide an
additional funding of $20,000. The additional funds will be granted to Silcox
Foundation in order to further the purposes of the MOU and to fund a pilot program for
the care and treatment of selected animals requiring medical attention or hospice care.
Fort Worth Animal Care and Control will identify animals for the Pilot Program based
upon observations, medical condition and prognosis, and determination that medical
care will likely result in the animal becoming adoptable; or that long term veterinary or
hospice care is appropriate for the animal.
All other terms, provisions, conditions, covenants and recitals of the MOU not

expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect.
