HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1367~ E~esolu~ion RESOLUTION N0. ~a WHEREAS, extensive sand and gravel excavation occurs in unincorporated areas of the State which is largely unregulated; and WHEREAS, these operations frequently create conditions which destroy wildlife habitats, promote unpermitted dumping of solid waste, create drainage problems, endanger water quality, create unattractive nuisance, encroach on public rights-of way, and contribute significantly to the deterioration of State and County roads; and WHEREAS, these sites are commonly closed with no efforts made toward reclamation, since no requirements for site closure exist: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, I. that the City of Fort Worth, Texas, support the development of legislation that would enable municipalities to regulate sand and gravel excavation and land reclamation located in their extra-territorial jurisdiction and counties to regulate the same in the remaining unincorporated areas; and 2. that the City of Fort Worth, Texas, support legislation which provides for municipalities and counties to collect permitting fees Co offset any costs incurred for application review and other administrative requirements.
