JOINT RESOLUTION AND AGREEMENT
City of Fort Worth will be conducting City Council
other matters as may be placed upon the ballot by
of said City on April 4, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, on April 4, 1987, Tarrant County will conduct a County
Bond Election; and,
WHEREAS, it is the finding of the governing bodies of the
parties hereto that the joint conduct of such elections would result
insubstantial savings to the taxpayers of the governmental entities
required to conduct such elections and that such savings would be
realized if the elections, where possible, be held in the same
location, utilizing the same personnel, with the two governmental
entities sharing the expenses incurred in the conduct of this elec-
tion; and,
WHEREAS, all the eligible voters of Tarrant County shall be
entitled to vote in the election to determine the question of con-
firmation of the Tarrant County Bond issue.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY JOINTLY RESOLVED AND AGREED by the
City Council of the City of Fort Worth and the Commissioners' Court
of Tarrant County, Texas, that these two entities, where possible,
shall conduct said elections jointly on April 4, 1987, and that in
the event there are election precincts which include incorporated
territory lying within the limits of the said City, and unincorpo-
rated territory lying outside the limits of said City, that said
voters from the unincorporated territory shall be allowed to vote
only on the question of the Tarrant County Bond issue; while those
voters who are residents of the City shall be allowed-to vote'on-the"
City Council races and such other matters as may be placed upon the
and. that Ruth Howard, City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth, is
hereby appointed the Absentee Voting Clerk for the joint absentee
voting by personal appearance.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND AGREED that absentee voting by
personal appearance shall be conducted in the south lobby of the
Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmortdn Street, Fort Worth, Texas,
during those hours that the Fort Worth City Secretary's Office is
open for.business, those hours being on weekdays only, beginning at
8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. daily. Said absentee voting on
weekdays shall begin on Monday, March 16, 1987, and shall end at
5:00 p.m. on March 31, 1987. In addition, absentee voting by per-
sonal appearance shall also be conducted on Saturday, March 28,
1987, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., in the south

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND AGREED that separate tally sheets
and all election return reports required by law shall be maintained
with respect to the elections to fill the offices of Mayor and City
Council, and the election to confirm the Tarrant County bond issue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND AGREED that same election judges may

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND AGREED that the City of Fort Worth
and the County of Tarrant shall share equally the costs of Sites,
Election Judges, Clerks, and Asentee Balloting at City Hall. The
County of Tarrant will pay the Election Judges $25.00 for the
returns, the election results, and supplies to Tarrant County.
