Home My WebLink AboutContract 49932-A1 UTY SECRETARY RECEIVED AMENDMENT No.1 CONTRACT NO. a 09122018 2018 CITY0FrORTWORTH TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 49932 CITYSECRET4ny WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and DUNAWAY ASSOCIATES, L.P . , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No . 49932, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized on the 14 day of November, 2017 in the amount of $58, 825 . 00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project : Hammond Street Drainage Improvements - Final Design and Construction Phase Services; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee . NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT : 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated September 10, 2018, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $21, 700 . (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -3-) 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $80, 525 . 3 . All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect . EXECUTED and EFFECTIVE as of the date last written by a signatory, below. These services have included: • Preparation of two additional plan/profile drawings for the proposed alternative storm drain alignment through the car dealership located in the Longhorn Dodge Addition, Block 1, Lot 1, • Revision of junction box detail sheets to include a new, larger box associated with the proposed alternative alignment, • Updating of plans to include and reference LIM & Associates City Project No. 100421 water and sewer sheets. This includes the addition of associated water and sewer detail sheets, • Preparation of two additional plan/profile drawings for requested sewer line removal and replacement at Timothy St and Pleasant St as well as at the 1-35W Service Road, • Updating of the Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost to reflect the alternate alignment, additional water and sewer items, and updated POL quantities, • Update the Bidders Proposal section of the Bidders Application in the current specifications, • and, Preparation of Temporary Construction and Permeant Drainage easement documents for necessary parcels running through the car dealership lot based on the alternative culvert alignment. Midland - San Antonio dunawayassociates.com DUNAWA Y Dunaway No. 2006041.003 April 3, 2018 Mr. Mike Bennett, P.E., PMP Capital Delivery Division /TPW City of Fort Worth 200 Texas Street Fort Worth, TX 76102 Reference: Hammond Street— Proposed Scope Revision Dear Mr. Bennett: Per our recent conversations, it is our understanding that the current owners and/or tenant of the car dealership located in the Longhorn Dodge Addition, Block 1, Lot 1 have requested the proposed storm drain improvements to follow the existing drainage easement across the property, rather than follow a route just inside the west and north property lines. It is also our understanding that based on the request from the owner/tenant,the City would like Dunaway Associates, (Dunaway)to prepare an alternate bid design for a storm drain alignment within the existing easement. We further understand that the City would like to advertise the Hammond Street storm drain project in mid/late April in order for construction to take place during the summer of 2018. To accommodate the addition of the bid alternate, Dunaway requests the scope of the current contract (City Secretary Contract No. 49932) to include the additional effort of preparing construction drawings for an alternate alignment of the proposed storm drain improvements within the existing drainage easement across the car dealership lot. We anticipate the following effort will be required: • Prepare two additional plan/profile drawings for the proposed alternative storm drain alignment, • Revise the junction box detail sheet to include the new, larger box associated with the proposed alternative alignment, • Update the Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost to reflect the alternate alignment, and • Update the Bidders Proposal section of the Bidders Application in the current specifications. We understand the previously-approved scope is based on a time and materials budget. Therefore, for the budgetary purposes, we anticipate the additional effort to be on the order of$7,100.
